Previous research showed that Rhizophora sp. was plant which has tyrosinase inhibitor activity. The purpose of this study is to find the parts and species of Rhizophora sp. which has the best tyrosinase inhibitory activity. The leaf, stems, and roots of R. mucronata and R. sty/osa extracted with methanol and tested these activities to get the best tyrosinase inhibitory activity. Based on the results, extracts of leaf, stems, and roots of R. mucronata from Tritih Citacap, Gebang Cirebon, Eretan Kulon Indramayu, Ujung Negoro Seach Satang, Sigundu Seach Satang, and Kapuk Seach Jakarta had no potency as inhibitor tyrosinase. The root of R. mucronata from Samboja East Kalimantan is the most potent extracts as tyrosinase inhibitor compare to the leaf and stems of R. mucronata from Samboja East Kalimantan, especially for monophenolase (IC50: 15.34 j.lg/ml). The stems of R. sty/osa from Samboja East Kalimantan is more potent than as tyrosinase inhibitor compared to stems of R. mucronata, especially for monophenolase (IC50: 38.02 j.lg/ml).en
