Pengaruh Konsentrasi Gas, Nitrogen dan Kadar Air Awal Terhadap Daya Simpan Benih Kedelai
Abstract
An experiment was conducted at Seed Technology and Science Laboratory, Bogor Agriculture University, on October 1985 to May 1986. The purpose of the experiment was to evaluate the influence of nitrogen gas concentration and initial seed moisture content on soybean seed storability. Four levels of nitrogen gas concentration and two levels of initial seed moisture content were tested in a factorial completely randomized design, with 3 replications. Results indicated that nitrogen gas concentration did not influence soybean seed storability and there was no interaction between nitrogen gas concentration and initial seed moisture content in all variable observed. Viability and vigor of soybean seed with initial moisture content of 9. 13% could be maintained longer than that of 12.81% initial moisture content. Soybean seed with 9.13% (d.b.) initial seed moisture content which were stored at room temperature have 20 weeks storability, but if initial seed moisture content was 12.81% (d.b.) soybean storability was only 4 weeks.
