      Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examined the activity of Ambon banana (Musa paradisiaca var sapientum) extract in ointmeni formulation on the wound healing process of mice skin (Mus musculus albinus) based on histophatology observations. The wound healing process were observe grossly everyday while the microscopic lesion were observed on the rd. 51h. ~. J.fh and 2 rt days after skin incisition. The wounded skin were sampled after the mice were euthanized for further microscopic observation. The gross parameters were the existence of blood coagulation, scab formation. wound covering and wound size. The microscopic parameters observed include the infitration of ma[;rophages, neutrophils and lymphocytes, neocapiliary formation, the percentation of wound reepitelization and the the tickness of wound connective tissues (fibroblast). Gross lesion and the fibroblasi thickness were descriptively analyzed as a qualitative data. Grossly, the Ambon banana stem extract in ointment formulation showed that scab formation was faster than negative and positive control. Histophatological observation result that the Ambon banana stem extract showed the statistical/jl analyzed was more significant (P<0,05) than the negative control. The fibroblast thickness on the skin wound treated Ambon banana stem extract was high and the and the formation also faster than the negative and positive control. Based on the 1esearch the Ambon banana stem extract in ointment could be use in the acceleration of wound healing process.
