dc.description.abstract | The problem often faced by Indonesian farmers in striped catfish (Pangasionodon sp) fry transportation is low survival rate due to changes in water quality during transportation caused by high consentration of CO2, ammonia accumulation, fish activity, bacterial infection and physical wound from rough handling. An attempt done to neutralize toxic ammonia that is by adding zeolite and active carbon to packing medium, where the zeolites and activated carbon is a material capable of adsorbing ammonia for a certain time. This research used zeolite and carbon composition A (20 g zeolite), B (15 g zeolite + 5 g activated carbon), C (10 g zeolite + 10 g activated carbon), D (5 g zeolite + 15 g activated carbon) and E (20 g activated carbon). Fish density used 300 fry/ℓ for 72 hours every 24 hours samples were taken to measure water quality (DO, TAN, NH3, pH, temperature, CO2). This research resulted thst 5 g zeolite + 15 g activated carbon addition gave the best results with the highest survival rate of 83.3 ± 6.79%, TAN concentration of 4.6816 ± 0.628 mg / ℓ and NH3 concentration of 0.0228 ± 0.005 mg / ℓ, the temperature of 19.7 to 22 ° C, DO of ± 1.99 mgO2, CO2 sebesar 62,84± 5,53 mg/ℓ. | en |
