There are some obstacles in Asian catfish juvenile production, especially outside the spawning season (May to September). It causes low quality of fish fry. Some manipulations are needed in order to improve the quality of juvenile. One of manipulation that can be done is hormone manipulation using thyroxin hormone and salinity shock. It was expected that thyroxin immersion and salinity shock will accelerate the larvae growth and development and also increase survival. Hormones were taken from thyrax tablet. The larvae that was used is newly hatched. The study consisted of 4 treatments and 3 replications using complete randomized design. Treatments consisted of a control, a dose of 0.05 ppm (P1), a dose of 0.1 ppm (P2), and a dose of 0.2 ppm (P3) for 1 hour immersion. Before larvae were immersed in hormone solution, a salinity shock of 20 ppt for 2 minutes were applied. Larvae was cultured in aquarium with density 40 larvae/l. The experiment was terminated at 12 days later. The result showed that larvae immersion in thyroxin solution and salinity shock 20 ppt promote the development, growth, and survival of Asian catfish larval, where dose of 0.05 ppm (P1) is the optimum level when viewed from efficiency and the economical perspective.en
