Effect of gotu kola (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) leaf extract on the cognitive functions of rats

Abstract

The aim of the study was to explore the mechanism of Centella asiatica leaf extract in improvement of cognitive function. The study used Wistar male rats, Centella asiatica and reagents for extraction. The evaluated levels are 0, 100, 300 and 600 mg extract/kg body weight. The design was randomized block design with five replicates. The statistical analyzes method of variance with F-test was used in this study. The result indicated that the Centella asiatica extract contains P, K, Mg, Ca, Zn, Mn, and asiaticoside.
