The successful selection of high yielding chili is determined by the appropriate selection criteria. One method that can be used to find the selection criteria is to use path analysis that can measure the direct influence of one variable on other variables with a correlation coefficient of separation of the components of direct and indirect influence. This study aims to determine the pattern of relationships between the characters to look for character growth determinants of the production of high yielding chili based on correlation values, the direct and indirect influence and the value of heritability estimators. Research conducted at the Field Experiments Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) Leuwikopo Darmaga, lasting from July to December 2010. Design Randomized trial arranged in groups, the single factor consisting of 15 genotypes of chilli (F7015008-5, F3110005-2-3 F7009004, F7009015-4-9 F6002003, F3120005-3, F6015002-1-5 F6001004, F7009003-5 , F7019015-1-1 F7009002, F7002001-4-3 F7009019, F6002046-2, F6002005-29) and 5 varieties of comparators (Gelora, Lembang-1, Spear, Super and Trisula TIT) with three replications. Analysis of data using the F test, Duncan's test further New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) level of 5% and the estimation of genetic parameters (range of genotype, phenotype diversity and genetic diversity coefficient). Further analysis of cross correlation and analysis. Quantitative variables observed were: plant height, height dikotomus, stem diameter, canopy width, leaf width, leaf length, flowering time, harvest age, length of fruit stalk, fruit flesh thickness, fruit length, fruit diameter, weight per fruit, fruit weight viable market per plant, total fruit weight per plant. The results showed that the variables that have a coefficient value of diversity with criteria that narrow the width of the canopy and flowering time in addition to the two variables that have a broad criteria. Variables that have a value of heritability in the broad sense with the criteria being is flowering time and variable width of the canopy has a value in the broad sense heritability of low criteria, addition of these two variables have a high criterion. Variable diameter of the fruit has a direct influence on the weight of fruit per plant. Variables that have an indirect influence on the weight of fruit per plant is the thick flesh of the fruit and the weight per fruit. Strains are selected chili-3 F7009019, F6002046 and F6002005-2-29.
