Risiko Kegemukan Terhadap Kadar Kolesterol

Abstract

Elevated of blood cholesterol may be caused by many factors and among others is over weight or obesity. High blood cholesterol may cause heart disease. Correlation analysis between obesity and blood cholesterol is rare, that why, this analysis was undertaken. This secondary data analysis was taken from National House-health Survey 2004 and Economic Social Survey 2004. Sampling analysis unit were male and female 25-65 years old. The result of the analysis showed that people with overweight and obesity (IMT >30) had 1.61 risk of getting blood cholesterol borderline. Another variable was female who live in urban with age of 36 years old or above. Overweight and obesity had risk 2.30 and 2.04 times respectively compared with normal people to get high cholesterol.
