dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this research was to study about the relationship between leadership and the performance of government employees in some offices of livestock, fishery, and marine resources in North Jakarta. This study used a quantitative approach by using a census method and was supported by qualitative data. An individual respondent was a civil servant who had been working there. It focused on three points of analysis. They were a leadership type owned or used by a leader, the employees performance, and the relation among them. Based on the result of study, a dominant leadership type used was participatory. Furthermore, a leader also used consultive and delegative leadership type. They used several leadership types in various conditions and in accordance with the character of employees. It indicated that most employees had a good performance. There was a close relation between factor of leadership type anad employees performance. At last, it could be concluded that a leadership type used by a leader would improve the employees performance.en
