      Abstract
An excellent animal performance has to be upported by feed availability. Quality and quantity offorages are important factors. The existence ofweeds significantly decreases rate ofproduction and quality ofherbage. Physically weed control by defoliation muld be ocpected to sustain quality and production ofherbage, and able to control weeds expansion. The aims ofthe sh.rdy were to find the effect of interval defoliati on of B. humidicola that was invad edby C. odorata andits effect on productio4 crude proteiq phosphor, calcium contents of B. humidicola herbage, production and population dynami c of C. dorata. The treatments were nine different planting methods and different defoliation intervals, namely: B. humidicolawas defoliated wery 30 days without C. odorata @l); B. humidicola was defoliated every 60 days without C. doran (P2); B. humidicola was defoliated every 90 days without C. odorata (P3); B. humidicola werc defoliated wery 30 days, C. odorata were not defoliated @4); B. humidicola were defoliated every 60 days, C. odorata were not defoliated @5); B. humidicola were defoliated every 30 days, C. odorata were not defoliated (P6); B. humidicola and C. odoralawere defoliated every 3 0 days @f ; A. humidicola and C. dorata, were defoliated every 60 days @8); B. humidicola and C. odorataweredefoliated wery 90 days @9). Two experiment designs namely Completely Randomized Block Design and Split Plot Design in Tune were used in the field experiments. The resrlt ofthe eqeriments showed that dry matter production ofB. lnanidicolo*vhtchwere defoliated every 90 days were not significantly different than those defoliated every 60 days, but it was significantly higher than those defoliated every 3 0 days. Crude protein" phosphor, and calcium mntent ofherbage which were defoliated wery 30 days were significantly higbuthan those ddoliated every 60 days and 90 days. Present and defoliation of C. odorata did not affect the herbage production, and phosphor content, but it decreased crude protein and calcium content ofB. humidicolaherbage.
