Series of experiments to promote turmeric germination were carried from September 1988 to October 1989 to find Simplest and effective way in breaking dormancy of rhizomes. Dipping for 30 minutes with 2.4 D of 1.5 ppm and repeated a week later with 1.0 ppm resulted in 96% germinated seedlings within 2 weeks after.
