| dc.description.abstract | HETEROSIS INDICATION OF VEGETATIVE GROWTH IN SOME COCONUT HYBRIDE VARIETIES. A study of vegetative characterist~cs o f 18-month old hybrid coconuts shored that the number of leaflets on # 6 leaves, the length of the t 6 leaf and the number of fronds were higher in all three hubrids compared with the open pollinated variety. The hybrid coconuts were also taller. There are indications of the presence of heterosis i n dwarf X tall crosses. Better yields of the hybrids are anticipated | id |
