Strains of CMV could be distinguished by ELISA However, the used of antiserum raised from two kinds of stored antigens in two different ELISA procedures did not clearly show differences on the A, values. CMV-28 in indirect &LISA seemed was confined in between subgroups I and II of CMV, while it was grouped into subgroup II in DASELISA. The virion analysis of CMV did not differentiate strains into the same serogroups as those of the ELISA tests. Strains of CMV-U and CMV-28 showed two bands with a very slow migration band. This additional Band might be the degraded virion particle which could occur either during vim preparation or electrophoresis. Then was no correlation between symptoms variations, the A, value in ELISA, and the electrophoretic mobility of virlon of CMV strains, particularly for distinguishing them into different subgroups.id
