      Pengaruh Naungan dan Pemupukan Nitrogen Terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Coklat (Theobroma cacao L) di Pembibitan

      Abstract
      Effect pf shade and nitrogen f e r t i l i z i n g on growth o'f cocoa seedling (Theobrma cacao L.) on nursery. The experiment using a s p l i t- plot design was conducted at Darmaga (Leuwikopo) Experimental St a t ion, Bogor Agricultural University, Bogor, t o investigate the e f f e c t of level of shade, l e v e l of N f e r t i l i z e r , and t h e i r i n t e r a c t i o n on growth of cocoa seedling. The experiment was conducted from the end of January t o the beginning of June 1983 ; two l e v e l s of shade (as a main p l o t ) and four l e v e l s of N f e r t i l i z e r (as a sub p l o t ) i n three r e p l i c a t e s . The height of p l a n t , the number of leaves, the c i r c l e of trunk, and leave area were very s i g n i f i c a n t affected by shade. The dry weight of plant was s i g n i f i c a n t affected (p = 0.025). F e r t i l i zing was s i g n i f i c a n t a f f e c t on the number of leaves (p = 0.05), the c i r c l e of trunk (p = 0.10), the dry weight of plant (P = 0.025), but not s i g n i f i c a n t a f f e c t on the height of p l a n t , and leave area. The i n t e r a c t i o n between shade and f e r t i l i z i n g were s i g n i f i c a n t a f f e c t on the c i r c l e of trunk (p = 0.05), the dry weight of plant (p = 0.01), but n o t s i g n i f i c a n t a f f e c t on the height of p l a n t , the number of leaves, and leave area. To cons i d e r the p o s s i b i l i t i e s of dry r i s k , t h e 75 % of shade and dose of pack of 7 g of Urea p e r p l a n t were the best.
