Abstract

The ge netic d ivu$ity of a world eollection of fO~18il millet ~trains (Setaria italiea) and somt samples of wild populations (Selaria viridis) was studied by meln5 of electrophoresis on live en~ymt5 ( 10 loci) Est. Acph. Got. Mdh. Pgd. In spi te of In ove:TIII1 limited polymorphism. the di\'ersily appeared 10 be clearly regionalized. The wild populations coll«1ed in France Ind China introduced new genelic vlriability 10 the C\lltivattd 1Orms. However. Ihe interregional diversity within both species was grea ter than the between species (So yiridisl S. ita/iea) diversity.
