      Abstract
Orange (Citrus grandis L.) is one of horticulture commodity which is consummed because of its delicious taste and plenty vitamins and minerals that is required by the human body. The respiration rate of the minimally processed of orange at 10, 15 and 27.5 0C were 8.10, 13.24 and 28.212 ml/kg.1t, respectivily. The respiration rate of whole (unpeeled) orange at the same storage temperature were 10.15, 19.13 and 42.28 ml/kg.1t, respectivily. The research concluded that 100C was the optimum temperature for the storage of minimally processed of orange. Among various experimental atmospheric composition, it was obtained that 3-5% 02, 5-7% C02 co~ld prolong the storage life of minimally processed orange based on their weight, colour, hard~ess, sugar content and total acidity as well as organoleptic test value. According to the respiration rate and optimum atmospheric composition, the polypropylene film was the best packaging material for this product. Using polypropylene packaging film containing three pieces of fruit, weight of 159.19 g with surface area of 151.25 cm2 could prolong the storage life up to 10 days. Key words: MAP, shelf life, respiration rate, minimally process
