Recently, many private caompanies are interested in the production of china grass (Boehmeria nivea . GAUD). This leads to increase in demand of seddlings. Tissue culture technique makes possible to produce seedlings of the crop in a high quantitif with a homogenous performance. Explans from one noded cutting of 2 - 2 . 5 cm long were planted on basal media: MS + sucrosa + vitamin B, Growth regulators; cytokinin, BA, kinetin and 2 – iPat the concentrations of 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 m g / l . Other experiiirent tested the combination of BA 0.5 mg/l with 2 - iP 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 m g / l . Result showed that BA 0.5 mg/l produced the best growth and the largest number of shoots, but the shoots (1.72) were shorter than that produced in BA 0.1 nlg/l applying 2 - iP of different concentrations in to BA 0.5 irrq/l neither in creased the number nor the length of shoots significantly. However, 2-iP visually improved the vigour of the culture, bigger and stronger stem, larger size and more green leaves. The least vigour of the culture was abserved on the media enriched with kinetin.id
