Isolasi dan Karakterisasi Bakteri Asal Laut Sulawesi untuk Biokontrol Penyakit Vibriosis pada Larva Udang Windu (Penaeus monodon Fab.)
Abstract
Six-hundred and three isolates of marine bacteria have been isolated from Sulawesi Sea and analysed for their inhibitory effects toward Vibrio harveyi both in vitro and in vivo experiments. Fifteen isolates demonstrated vibriostatic activity of which BL542 had the highest activity. Physiological and biochemical characterization of the 15 isolates showed that all of them were gram negative, indole negative and amylase positive; 14 isolates were short-rod and one isolate was long-orod, 14 isolates were non motile and one isolate was motile; and 11 isolates were catalase negative and 4 isolates were catalase positive. The biocontrol candidate bacteria, at concentration of 108 CFU/ml, were not pathogenic to shrimp larvae at stages PL21 or PL7. BL542 had a higher inhibitory effect than BL546 or BL548 isolates on V. harveyi colonization both in the rearing water and shrimp larvae. Based on 16S-rRNA sequencing, BL542 isolat was closely related to DNA sequence of Pseudoalteromonas sp. Edeep-1 16S-rRNA.
