Abstract
In addition to corn cobs, sawdust is the most common cultivation medium for wbite oyster mushrooms (Heurdus mtmdus aacq. ex Fr.) Kummer). Mixtures of compost made from sengon (J'amseria~hcsf alcnlaria Q Fosb.) wood sawdusts and corn cobs ground witb ratio 4:4 3:1,1:1,1:3, and 0:4 were used as medium of wbitk oyster musbroom. Tbe medium were placed in two sbelvce with differtnt beight, The results showed that tbe mycelia grew signifwantly faster on tbe mixed medium tban tbat on the single component medium. Tbe mushrooms also grew better in tbe medium placed in the lower shelf than that in tbe upper sbelf, However, the lengbt of time needed for tbe appearance of the primodia, the wcigbt of ~ U S B P OcOap~s and stipcn. cap diameter, and tbe number of basidioma were not sigaMcPnUy affected by both tbe medium and tbe placement of tbe cultures. Tbe bbloghl efficiency of tbe wbite oyster musbroom was approximately 38 to 43%
