The objective of this research was to determine the optimal diluent in maintaining frmn semen quality of Sarnen buck The kind of diluent used were tris-fructose-egg yolk, tris-lactose-egg yolk, Iactose-cgg yolk, and citratdactose-egg yolk Semen was collected once a week by artificial vagina. Duncan test were used to evaluate the difference between treatments. Results indicated that the mean percentage of motility, live sperm, sperm with intact plasma membrane and intact acrosomal cap were not difference between treatments (P > 0.05) at pre-freezing. After freezing, the mean percentage of motility, live sperm, sperm with intact plasma membrane and intact acrosomrl cap in tris-lactose-egg yolk diiuent were Bigber (P < 0.05) than tris-fructose-egg yolk, lactose-egg yolk or citrate-hctose-egg yolk Decreasing percentage of motility, live sperm, rparm with intact plasma membrane and intact acrosomal cap from dilution until thawing in tris-laetosaegg yolk dilaant were lower than tris-fructose-egg yolk, lactose-egg yolk or citratelaetose-egg yolk. Therefore, addition of tria-laetoseapg yo& could preserve good motility, live sperm, sperm with intact plasma membrane and intact acrosomal cap Saanen bucks aem during semen cryopreservation under low temperature.id
