dc.description.abstractThe slaughterhouse located within a crowded area Depok-Bogor has a daily capacity of approsimately 15 to 20 cows and buffaloes slaughtered. Its water treatment is very simple, the solid waste are accumulated outdoor (dumping) while the waste water are well sedimented into five special made ponds and one pond as control. The analysis for waste water resulted in high concentration of BOD and COD as well as of suspended solid waste. A low pH of waste water were already occured in the early period of slaughtering. The study showed that the pond played a significant roll for management of waste treatment in those slaughterhouse.id
