dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memodifikasi dan membangun instrumen penguji tingkat kebersihan gabah hasil panen sesuai Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) dalam skala laboratorium. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh kebutuhan alat uji yang sederhana, ekonomis, dan akurat untuk mendukung peningkatan mutu pascapanen, khususnya bagi petani dan usaha kecil menengah. Metode penelitian meliputi perancangan desain menggunakan perangkat lunak Solidworks, proses manufaktur prototipe, serta pengujian fungsional dan kinerja dengan sampel gabah varietas Ciherang dan Sintanur. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen mampu memproses 100 gram sampel hanya dalam 1,34 menit dengan efisiensi pemisahan rata-rata 96,62% gabah isi, losses 0,71%, dan susut hasil 3,38%. Dibandingkan metode manual yang membutuhkan waktu 114,13 menit, instrumen ini mempercepat proses hingga 85 kali lebih cepat. Dengan demikian, instrumen yang dirancang terbukti efektif, efisien, serta berpotensi mendukung peningkatan kualitas gabah dan kemandirian teknologi pascapanen di Indonesia.
dc.description.abstractThis research aims to modify and develop a testing instrument for evaluating the cleanliness level of harvested paddy according to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) on a laboratory scale. The study was motivated by the need for a simple, affordable, and accurate testing tool to improve post-harvest quality, especially for farmers and small-medium enterprises. The methodology included design using Solidworks software, prototype manufacturing, and functional as well as performance testing with Ciherang and Sintanur paddy varieties. Results indicated that the instrument processed 100 grams of samples within 1.34 minutes, achieving an average separation efficiency of 96.62% filled grains, with 0.71% losses and 3.38% yield reduction. Compared to manual methods requiring 114.13 minutes, the instrument was up to 85 times faster. Therefore, the developed instrument proved to be effective, efficient, and has strong potential to enhance paddy quality assurance and promote post-harvest technological independence in Indonesia.
