      Abstract
Akan tetapi, ekstrak kasar etanol I. cairica tergolong sangat toksik (LC50 7,2 ppm), sehingga penggunaan ekstrak kasar I. cairica sebagai agen antiinflamasi potensial perlu kehati-hatian.

Inflammation is a body’s response to infiltrating allergen. An excessive use of anti-inflammation medicine may triggers adverse side-effects. The investigation of alternative medication utilizing medicinal plants had been performed many times, particularly by utilizing local biological resources. The aim of this study is to determine a plant from Belitung Island with the most promising secondary metabolites content to alleviate inflammation. In silico selection was conducted to six species of potential plant that mostly utilized by indigenous people of East Belitung. Pecah tujuh or Ipomoea cairica come as the most potent plant. In vitro experimental tests showed antioxidant activity of  I. cairica crude ethanol extract represented by the IC50 of 325,7 ppm. The extract maintains the erythrocyte membrane’s stability relatively higher compared to sodium diclofenac in every test’s series. Nevertheless, crude ethanol extract of I. cairica  is classified as ‘highly toxic’ (LC50 of 7,2 ppm), so the utilization of I. cairica crude extract as anti-inflammation agent must be handled with care.
