dc.description.abstractPakan merupakan aspek penting yang dapat memengaruhi tingkah laku dan produktivitas domba. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis tingkah laku domba garut jantan yang diberi pakan dengan sumber protein berbeda (ampas tahu, ampas bir, dan ampas kacang hijau). Unit domba yang digunakan berjumlah 18 ekor dengan umur 7-8 bulan dan bobot badan rataan 22,94±2,22 kg. Penelitian ini menggunakan 3 perlakuan kombinasi pakan berbeda, P1= silase (50%), konsentrat (10%), ampas tahu (40%), P2= silase (50%), konsentrat (10%), ampas bir (40%), dan P3= silase (50%), konsentrat (10%), ampas kacang hijau (40%). Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian sumber protein berbeda berpengaruh signifikan terhadap frekuensi dan durasi tingkah laku ruminasi, serta durasi tingkah laku standing (P<0,05). Perlakuan 2 (ampas bir) meningkatkan frekuensi dan durasi ruminasi, dan mengurangi durasi tingkah laku standing. Tidak terdapat perbedaan nyata pada frekuensi dan durasi tingkah laku ingestive¸ lying, lokomosi, dan agonistic. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa karakteristik pakan dapat memengaruhi efisiensi konsumsi pakan dengan alokasi waktu ruminasi domba yang lebih intens.
dc.description.abstractFeed is an important aspect that can influence the behavior and productivity of sheep. This study aims to analyze the behavior of male garut sheep fed with different protein sources (tofu pulp, beer pulp, and mung bean pulp). The study used 18 sheep units, aged 7- 8 months with an average body weight of 22,94±2,22 kg. Three treatments were applied: P1= silage (50%), concentrate (10%), tofu pulp (40%), P2= silage (50%), concentrate (10%), beer pulp (40%), and P3= silage (50%), concentrate (10%), mung bean pulp (40%). The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the different protein sources significantly affected the frequency and duration of ruminating behavior, as well as the duration of standing behavior (P<0,05). Treatment 2 (beer pulp) increased the frequency and duration of rumination while reducing the duration of standing behavior. There were no significant differences in the frequency and duration of ingestive, lying, locomotion, and agonistic behaviors. This study concludes that feed characteristics can influence feed consumption efficiency with an allocation of more intense ruminating time for the sheep.
