      APLIKASI BIOCHAR DARI KULIT ARI KEDELAI PADA TANAH LATOSOL UNTUK MENDUKUNG PERTUMBUHAN TANAMAN PAKCOY

      Abstract
      Proses produksi industri tempe menghasilkan limbah padat berupa kulit ari kedelai. Limbah hasil produksi yang tidak terolah dengan baik dapat menimbulkan bau tidak sedap yang mengganggu lingkungan sekitar. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengukur kemampuan biochar dari limbah kuit ari kedelai untuk memperbaiki sifat fisika dan kimia tanah dan mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman pakcoy. Penelitian dilakukan pada skala semi lapang. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Acak Lengkap dengan 7 perlakuan yang merupakan kombinasi dosis biochar (2, 4, dan 6%), serta ukuran ayakan biochar (60 dan 80 mesh) yaitu B2-60, B2-80, B4 60, B4-80, B6-60, B6-80, dan kontrol. Parameter yang diamati meliputi luas permukaan spesifik biochar, nilai pH, kadar Electrical Conductivity, C-Organik, dan P-Tersedia media tanam yang ditambah biochar. Parameter pertumbuhan tanaman meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, dan bobot kering tanaman pada umur panen 5 minggu setelah tanam. Beberapa hasil analisis varians (ANOVA) menunjukan hasil yang signifikan bahwa pengaplikasian biochar pada tanah berhasil meningkatkan parameter Electrical Conductivity, C-Organik, dan P Tersedia pada perlakuan dosis B6-80. Pada parameter pertumbuhan tanaman hasil analisis varians (ANOVA) menunjukan hasil yang sedikit signifikan pada parameter daun pada perlakuan B2-60 dan pada parameter pertumbuhan lainya tidak tidak memberikan hasil yang signifikan pada setiap perlakuan.
       
      The tempeh production process generates solid waste in the form of soybean seed coats. Improper management of this waste can cause unpleasant odors that disturb the surrounding environment. This study aimed to evaluate the ability of biochar produced from soybean seed coat waste to improve the physical and chemical properties of soil and to support the growth of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). The research was conducted on a semi-field scale using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with seven treatments combining biochar dosage levels (2%, 4%, and 6%) and particle sizes (60 and 80 mesh), namely B2-60, B2-80, B4-60, B4-80, B6-60, B6-80, and a control. The observed soil parameters included the specific surface area of biochar, pH, electrical conductivity, carbon, and available P in the planting media. Plant growth parameters included plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, and plant dry weight at harvest (five weeks after planting). Results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed significant effects of biochar application on electrical conductivity, organic carbon, and available P, particularly in treatment B6-80. For plant growth parameters, the ANOVA results indicated a slightly significant effect on the number of leaves in treatment B2-60, while other growth parameters showed no significant differences among treatments.
