      Abstract

This study addresses the optimization of the scheduling of lecturers for the course "Mathematics and Logical Thinking" at IPB using Integer Goal Programming (IGP). The research aims develop a mathematical model that minimizes the deviation in lecturers teaching loads from the ideal distribution while adhering to various constraint such as lecture times, room availability, and lecturer preferences. The proposed IGP model is implemented in three scenarios: Scenario 1 focuses on equalizing teaching loads, Scenario 2 allows for greater flexibility in teaching assignments, and Scenario 3 accounts for potential schedule conflicts with other courses like Calculus. The results demonstrate that the IGP model can effectively balance workloads and avoid scheduling conflicts, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and improved teaching efficiency. The model can be a useful tool for higher education institutions in improving their course scheduling systems.
