      Abstract

One of the models in dynamical systems is the predator-prey interaction. This research analyzes the Holling Type II functional response's influence on a one-prey, two-predator model. Steps included reconstructing Model I (basic), in addition Models II and III modified by applying the Holling type II function, determining fixed points, analyzing their stability, and numerical simulations. Models I and III yielded five fixed points; Model II yielded six, with stability being parameter-dependent. A functional response is the predation rate. The Holling type II function was applied to two cases: prey–first predator and first predator–second predator interactions. Results show increasing the first predator's growth rate due to eating prey in Model I did not change stability, but only increased the second predator's population. In Model II, it caused a stability change, such that the three populations coexist. Furthermore, increasing the second predator's growth rate due to eating the first predator in Model I did not alter stability; prey and second predator populations rose, while the first predator declined. However, in Model III, the system lost stability.
