      Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of workload on job satisfaction with work life balance as a mediating variable for government agency employees. This topic is important because high work pressure can disrupt work life balance and potentially reduce employee job satisfaction levels. This study was conducted at government agency unit deputy X with 50 employees as respondents. This study used quantitative data obtained through questionnaires and analyzed using a descriptive approach and Structural Equation Modeling analysis with the Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The results showed that workload had a negative and significant effect on work life balance and job satisfaction. Meanwhile, work life balance had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. In addition, work life balance was proven to play a significant role as a mediating variable in the relationship between workload and job satisfaction. These findings emphasize the importance of effective workload management and work life balance improvement strategies to create more optimal job satisfaction for employees of government agency unit X.
