      Abstract

Monitoring wastewater quality is an essential effort to ensure environmental sustainability and compliance with discharge standards before the effluent enters receiving waters. This study aims to design and evaluate an Internet of Things (IoT)-based prototype for monitoring wastewater quality using three main parameters: pH, temperature, and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). The system employs Arduino Nano and ESP8266 microcontrollers to collect sensor data, display measurements on an LCD, and transmit data in real time to the Firebase Realtime Database. The experimental results indicate that the DS18B20 temperature sensor and pH-4502C sensor achieved accuracy levels above 94%, while the Gravity TDS DFRobot sensor obtained an average accuracy of 65%. The developed system successfully provides online and real-time data visualization, supporting a more efficient and sustainable wastewater quality monitoring process.
