      Abstract
Peningkatan kebutuhan energi mendorong pengembangan biodiesel terbarukan.

The increasing demand for energy drove the development of renewable biodiesel. This study evaluated biodiesel production from waste cooking oil using a magnetic composite catalyst, NiAl-LDO/Activated Carbon/FeOOH/Fe3O4, which was synthesized through the solid–solid method. Characterization results obtained from FTIR, XRD, and SEM confirmed the successful formation of the catalyst with a porous structure and morphology that supported its catalytic activity. The transesterification process was carried out under two variations of reaction conditions: the molar ratio variation achieved the optimum condition at 1:9 with a methyl ester content of 73.82%, and the reaction time variation reached the optimum condition at 8 hours with a methyl ester content of 94.60%. The physicochemical property analysis of biodiesel under the optimum conditions showed that the results did not fully comply with the SNI 7182:2015 standard. However, the catalyst proved effective in enhancing production efficiency in an environmentally friendly, economical, and reusable manner.
