      Eksistensi Fenomena Bow Echo dan Pengaruhnya terhadap Curah Hujan dalam Studi Hujan Lebat Studi Kasus: Cianjur 27 Maret 2024

      Abstract
      Bow echo merupakan fenomena konvektif skala meso yang dapat memicu hujan deras dan angin kencang dalam waktu singkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran bow echo dalam kejadian hujan ekstrem pada periode banjir di Desa Mande dan Murnisari Kabupaten Cianjur tanggal 27 Maret 2024. Data yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini yaitu luaran model numerik WRF SADEWA BRIN serta data observasi curah hujan dan kelembaban relatif dari stasiun AWS BMKG. Pengolahan data dilakukan menggunakan Python melalui Google Collab untuk menghasilkan plot angin dan curah hujan dari WRF SADEWA, serta pengolahan data observasi dilakukan dengan Microsoft Excel. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa struktur bow echo terdeteksi oleh model WRF, namun tidak terpantau oleh sensor AWS. Selain itu, ditemukan perbedaan yang signifikan antara estimasi curah hujan dari model dan data observasi, yang kemungkinan dipengaruhi oleh arah dan kecepatan angin, keterbatasan alat ukur, serta akurasi model numerik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa fenomena konvektif seperti bow echo dapat luput dari pengamatan AWS. Oleh karena itu, integrasi antara model numerik resolusi tinggi dan sistem pengamatan darat penting dalam penguatan sistem peringatan dini bencana hidrometeorologi di Indonesia.
       
      This study aims to analyze the role of bow echo in the extreme rainfall event that triggered flooding in Cianjur on March 27 2024. Bow echo is a mesoscale convective phenomenon that can trigger severe weather and heavy rainfall, yet its role in localized flood events is often underexamined. Understanding this phenomenon is useful for improving extreme weather forecasting in Indonesia, particularly in vulnerable regions like Cianjur. The data used for this study include outputs from the WRF SADEWA BRIN model and rainfall observations from BMKG AWS stations. The WRF model outputs were used Python on Google Collab to produce weather maps, and observation data were used to make rainfall and specific humidity graphs in Microsoft Excel. The results were then compared spatially and temporally to assess rainfall intensity during the bow echo occurrence. Preliminary results show a bow echo structure captured by WRF outputs but not evident in BMKG observations data. Meanwhile, BMKG statements indicate that the extreme rainfall event was predominantly influenced by active Rossby waves that had already been detected the night before the flood event. The significant difference between model and observation rainfall values may be influenced by wind factors, limitations in rain gauge instruments, and the accuracy of the WRF model.
