dc.description.abstractPerkembangan teknologi informasi telah mendorong transformasi digital dalam pengelolaan arsip, termasuk surat menyurat di lingkungan instansi akademik. Departemen Manajemen Hutan IPB University saat ini masih mengelola surat masuk dan keluar secara semi-digital, yang menyulitkan pencarian dokumen dan berpotensi menghambat proses administrasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengevaluasi sistem informasi pengarsipan surat berbasis web guna mempermudah pencarian dokumen secara cepat, dan akurat. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan metode agile yang melibatkan pengguna dalam setiap iterasi, dengan teknologi React.js untuk antarmuka, Express.js sebagai backend, PostgreSQL untuk basis data, serta Elasticsearch berbasis metode BM25 untuk pencarian dokumen. Pengujian sistem dilakukan dengan blackbox testing terhadap 28 skenario, dan seluruh fitur berjalan sesuai kebutuhan pengguna. Sistem juga telah dinilai kerentanannya dari celah keamanan melalui Vulnerability Assessment, dan seluruh celah dengan risiko sedang hingga tinggi berhasil diperbaiki. Hasil akhir menunjukkan bahwa sistem ini tidak hanya mampu menangani proses surat menyurat secara digital, tetapi juga siap diimplementasikan secara fungsional dan aman di lingkungan Departemen Manajemen Hutan IPB University.
dc.description.abstractTechnological advancements have driven digital transformation in archive management, including correspondence in academic institutions. The Department of Forest Management at IPB University currently manages incoming and outgoing letters using a semi-digital approach, which complicates document retrieval and may hinder administrative processes. This study aims to design and evaluate a webbased letter archiving information system to facilitate faster, and more accurate document search. The system was developed using the Agile method, involving users in each iteration, with React.js as the front-end, Express.js for the back-end, PostgreSQL as the database, and Elasticsearch using the BM25 method for document search functionality. System testing was conducted through blackbox testing on 28 scenarios, all of which functioned according to user requirements. A Vulnerability Assessment was performed to identify potential security gaps, where all medium to high-risk vulnerabilities were resolved. The results indicate that the system not only handles correspondence processes digitally but is also functionally and securely ready for implementation within the Department of Forest Management at IPB University.
