| dc.description.abstract | Jagung manis (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) adalah salah satu komoditas penting di Indonesia. Kacang tunggak (Vigna unguiculata L.) merupakan tanaman kacang-kacangan yang efisien menggunakan nitrogen dari udara melalui bakteri Rhizobium. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaturan arah dan jumlah barisan tanaman dalam sistem tumpangsari jagung manis dan kacang tunggak. Lokasi penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan IP2TP Muara, Kota Bogor. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan yaitu rancangan kelompok lengkap teracak (RKLT) dua faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu jumlah baris tanaman sela kacang tunggak pada sistem tumpangsari. Faktor tanaman sela terdiri atas satu baris tanaman kacang tunggak (T1), dua baris tanaman kacang tunggak (T2) dan monokultur jagung (T0). Faktor kedua adalah arah barisan tanaman, yaitu arah tanaman barat-timur (A1) dan utara-selatan (A2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaturan arah dan jumlah baris dalam sistem tumpangsari jagung manis dan kacang tunggak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata pada komponen hasil jagung manis dan kacang tunggak. Jumlah baris memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan pada pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman jagung manis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan sistem tumpangsari satu baris kacang tunggak dengan orientasi arah baris barat-timur memberikan hasil terbaik dan lebih menguntungkan dibanding monokultur. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) is one of the important commodities in Indonesia. Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L.) is a leguminous plant that efficiently utilizes nitrogen from the air through Rhizobium bacteria. This study aims to determine the arrangement of row direction and the number of plant rows in the intercropping system of sweet corn and cowpea. The research was conducted at the IP2TP Muara Experimental Farm, Bogor City. The experimental design used was a two-factor randomized complete block design (RCBD). The first factor was the number of cowpea rows in the intercropping system. The intercrop factor consisted of one row of cowpea plants (T1), two rows of cowpea plants (T2), and sweet corn monoculture (T0). The second factor was the direction of the plant rows, namely west-east direction (A1) and north-south direction (A2). The results showed that the arrangement of row direction and the number of rows in the sweet corn and cowpea intercropping system had a significant effect on the yield components of both sweet corn and cowpea. The number of rows had a significant effect on the vegetative growth of sweet corn. The results of this study indicate that the intercropping system with one row of cowpea and row orientation in the west-east direction provided the best and more profitable yield compared to monoculture | |
