      Abstract

The use of drones for monitoring Land Surface Temperature (LST) is rapidly advancing, particularly in the field of precision agriculture. This study aims to examine the influence of different flight times and altitudes on the accuracy of LST values in a corn field located at the Cikabayan Experimental Farm, IPB University. Data were collected using a DJI Mavic 3T drone equipped with a thermal sensor at altitudes of 20, 40, and 60 meters and at three different times: 10:00, 12:00, and 14:00 local time (WIB). Calibration was conducted using a Minolta thermal camera as a ground reference. The results showed that LST values tended to be more accurate at lower altitudes, particularly at 20 meters. Additionally, data acquired at 12:00 yielded the highest coefficient of determination (R² = 0.6427). However, the lowest Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) was recorded at 10:00 at 20 meters altitude, indicating the optimal combination for LST mapping. This research highlights the importance of considering both acquisition time and drone flight altitude to obtain accurate surface temperature data in the agricultural sector.
