      IDENTIFIKASI KARAKTER MORFOLOGI, FENOLIK, FLAVONOID, DAN AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN DARI TANAMAN Celosia argentea L. HASIL INTRODUKSI

      Abstract
      Jengger ayam (Celosia argentea L.) merupakan tanaman hias dengan potensi yang besar dengan keindahan visual yang unik dan manfaat kesehatan. Keindahan bentuk fisik dan manfaat tanaman ini dapat menambah nilai ekonomi. Tanaman celosia mengandung senyawa-senyawa antioksidan antara lain flavonoid dan fenolik. Namun, potensi yang besar pada tanaman ini masih belum dioptimalkan karena kurangnya keragaman genetik. Salah satu peningkatan keragaman genetik yaitu dengan mengintroduksi celosia dari wilayah lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan tanaman celosia hasil introduksi dengan kandungan fenolik, flavonoid, dan aktivitas antioksidan yang tinggi, identifikasi karakter morfologi pada beberapa genotipe tanaman celosia hasil introduksi dan lokal, dan mendapatkan genotipe potensial untuk dikembangkan. Genotipe introduksi menghasilkan keragaman nilai pada setiap karakter kuantitatif maupun kualitatif. Genotipe memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap karakter kuantitatif. Keragaman kualitatif terjadi pada bentuk daun, bentuk batang, bentuk bunga, dan warna bunga. Genotipe I2 memiliki kandungan fitokimia tertinggi dengan fenolik sebesar 32,44 mg GAE g-1, flavonoid sebesar 12,54 mg QE g-1, dan antioksidan sebesar 8,84 µmol TE g-1. Jarak ketidakmiripan suatu karakter lebih dipengaruhi oleh warna bunga dari setiap nomor genotipe yang teramati. Genotipe I2 berpotensi dikembangkan ke industri fitofarmaka karena memiliki kandungan fitokimia yang tinggi
       
      Celosia argentea L. is an ornamental plant with great potential due to its unique visual beauty and health benefits. The physical attractiveness and various advantages of this plant can enhance its economic value. Celosia contains antioxidant compounds, including flavonoids and phenolics. However, its great potential has not yet been fully optimized due to limited genetic diversity. One way to increase genetic diversity is by introducing celosia from other regions. The objectives of this research were to identify Celosia argantea L. with high phenolic and flavonoid contents and antioxidant activity, to identify morphological characteristics of several introduced and local Celosia genotypes, and to identify potential genotypes for further development. The introduced genotypes showed variability in both quantitative and qualitative traits. Genotype had a highly significant effect on quantitative traits. Qualitative variation was observed in leaf shape, stem shape, flower shape, and flower color. Genotype I2 exhibited the highest phytochemical contents, with phenolic content of 32.44 mg GAE g?¹, flavonoid content of 12.54 mg QE g?¹, and antioxidant activity of 8.84 µmol TE g?¹. Dissimilarity in characteristics was more influenced by flower color than by the number of genotypes. Genotype I2 has potential for development in the phytopharmaceutical industry due to its high phytochemical content.
