      Validasi Metode Analisis Kadar Toluena pada Udara Lingkungan Kerja menggunakan GC-FID di PT Medialab Indonesia

      Abstract
      Udara merupakan komponen penting bagi kehidupan di bumi yang terdiri atas berbagai gas seperti nitrogen, oksigen dan karbondioksida. Pencemaran udara seperti toluena, merupakan masalah serius yang diatur dalam Permenaker No.5 Tahun 2018 dengan konsentrasi maksimum sebesar 20 µg/mL. Metode analisis toluena pada sampel udara lingkungan kerja merujuk pada NIOSH 1501 Edisi 4 Tahun 2003 menggunakan kromatografi detektor ionisasi nyala dengan perubahan jenis pelarut CS2 menjadi aseton. Hasil validasi metode toluena pada penelitian ini adalah valid berdasarkan parameter uji linearitas yaitu koefisien korelasi (r) = 0,999, nilai presisi diperoleh %SBR = 0,67 CV Horwitz dan %SBR < 7,8%, nilai akurasi metode sebesar 98,39% berada dalam rentang 80-115%, nilai batas deteksi 0,1476 µg/mL, dan batas kuantitasi 0,3476 µg/mL. Metode yang dihasilkan kuat dan tangguh terhadap perubahan kecil dari variasi laju alir gas pembawa sehingga metode valid dan dapat digunakan untuk analisis rutin di PT Medialab Indonesia.
       
      Air was an essential component of life on earth, consisting of various gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide. Air pollution, such as toluene, was a serious issue regulated in Permenaker No. 5 of 2018 with a maximum concentration limit of 20 µg/mL. The method for analyzing toluene in workplace environmental air samples refered to NIOSH 1501 4th Edition 2003 using gas chromatographyflame ionization detector (GC-FID), with a modification of the solvent from CS2 to acetone. The validation resulted of the toluene method in this study were valid based on the following test parameters: linearity with a correlation coefficient (r) > 0.999, precision with %RSD = 0.67 CV Horwitz and %RSD < 7.8%; accuracy of 98.39% within the acceptable range of 80-115%; limit of detection of 0.1476 µg/mL; and limit of quantitation of 0.3476 µg/mL. The method was robust and rugged to small changes in the carrier gas flow rate, making it valid and suitable for routine analysis at PT Medialab Indonesia.
