      Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the nutrient consumption and reproductive performance of arrowroot sheep fed ration rations with different oil contents. This study used twelve Garut caves of late pregnancy with an initial body weight of 39.49±4.99 kg. This study used a group randomized design (RAK). P1 = Control ration (30% forage + 70% concentrate), P2 = Flushing ration with 6% lemuru oil and P3 = Flushing ration with 6% sunflower seed oil. The measured variables included feed consumption and reproductive performance of ewes (birth weight of lambs, mortality of lambs, litter size, birth type, sex ratio). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), if significantly different, Duncan's further test was conducted using SPSS. The results showed that the use of 6% lemuru oil or 6% sunflower seed oil in the ration (flushing) did not affect (P>0.05) on feed consumption and reproductive performance (lamb birth weight, lamb mortality, litter size, birth type, sex ratio) and 14-day offspring weight gain. This study concludes that flushing with different types of oil does not affect feed consumption and reproductive performance of sheep.
