      Desain Tata Letak Produksi Pengomposan Skala Industri serta Pengomposan Skala Kecil di PT XYZ

      Abstract
      PT XYZ menghasilkan limbah ampas bawang merah dalam jumlah signifikan yang belum termanfaatkan secara optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang tata letak fasilitas produksi pengomposan skala industri dan pengomposan skala kecil sebagai solusi pengelolaan limbah yang efisien dan bernilai tambah. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) dengan bantuan perangkat lunak BLOCPLAN untuk mengevaluasi alternatif tata letak pengomposan skala industri. Proses perancangan meliputi analisis kebutuhan luas area, pembuatan Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), dan evaluasi jarak perpindahan material. Hasil penelitian merekomendasikan tata letak usulan dari iterasi ke-11 BLOCPLAN, yang memiliki total luas 2130 m² dan nilai efisiensi (R-Score) 0,72. Tata letak ini meminimalkan total jarak penanganan bahan hingga 544,2 meter. Selain itu, dirancang pula fasilitas pengomposan skala kecil dengan luas 30 m² untuk keperluan percobaan skala kecil. Desain yang diusulkan diharapkan dapat mendukung aliran proses produksi yang efisien, aman, dan nyaman, serta menjadi dasar bagi implementasi oleh perusahaan.
       
      PT XYZ generates a significant amount of underutilized red onion pulp waste. This research aims to design facility layouts for both industrial scale and small scale composting as an efficient, value-added waste management solution. The methodology for the industrial-scale layout employs Systematic Layout Planning (SLP), assisted by BLOCPLAN software to evaluate layout alternatives. The design process included an analysis of area requirements, the creation of an Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), and an evaluation of material handling distances. The results recommend the proposed layout from the 11th iteration of BLOCPLAN, which encompasses a total area of 2130 m² and achieves an efficiency score (R-Score) of 0.72, minimizing the total material handling distance to 544.2 meters. Furthermore, a small scale composting facility with an area of 30 m² was designed for trial purposes. The proposed designs are expected to support an efficient, safe, and comfortable production flow and serve as a basis for implementation by the company.
