      Abstract

Menstrual cycle disorders are abnormalities experienced by women during their menstrual cycle. This study aims to analyze the relationship between junk food consumption, sleep quality, and stress levels with menstrual cycle disorders in out of-town students. The research design used in this study was a cross-sectional study with 56 out-of-town students from IPB University as subjects. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling method. Most subjects had a normal menarche age (85.7%) with an average menarche age of 12.8±1.4 years. The distribution of subjects showed that 41.1% experienced polymenorrhea, 44.6% experienced oligomenorrhea, and 14.3% experienced secondary amenorrhea. The average frequency of junk food consumption was 28 times/week with an even distribution between the infrequent and frequent consumption groups. Most subjects experienced poor sleep quality (73.2%). Meanwhile, regarding the stress level variable, most subjects experienced moderate (32.1%) and severe (26.8%) stress. 4 Based on the analysis results, no significant association was found between junk food consumption and menstrual cycle disorders (p>0.05), except for the contribution of protein and carbohydrates (p<0.05). There was a significant association between stress levels and menstrual cycle disorders (p<0.05).
