      Abstract
      Monyet ekor panjang (Macaca fascicularis, MEP) memiliki manfaat besar sebagai hewan laboratorium karena kemiripan anatomis dan fisiologisnya dengan manusia. Nilai parameter fisiologi monyet ekor panjang (MEP) yang tersedia saat ini umumnya berasal dari literatur asing pada MEP di fasilitas penelitian. Kondisi fisiologis MEP yang berasal dari Indonesia dan hidup di fasilitas penangkaran semi-alami diperkirakan berbeda dengan yang di luar Indonesia dan dipelihara di lingkungan di luar habitatnya. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi profil fungsi hati MEP di penangkaran semi-alami di Pulau Tinjil, Banten, sebuah fasilitas yang dikelola oleh Pusat Studi Satwa Primata, IPB. Evaluasi dilakukan pada sampel arsip hasil pengambilan darah dari 38 ekor MEP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai alkaline phosphatase (ALP), bilirubin total, dan bilirubin direct MEP di Pulau Tinjil lebih tinggi dari nilai referensi, sedangkan nilai albumin lebih rendah. Meskipun tidak berbeda secara statistik, MEP jantan cenderung menunjukkan alanine aminotransferase (ALT), gamma glutamyl-transferase (GGT), total protein (TP), albumin, dan bilirubin direct yang lebih tinggi daripada betina. Nilai ALT dan GGT pada MEP muda cenderung lebih tinggi daripada dewasa. Perbedaan nilai fisiologis penanda fungsi hati antara MEP di penangkaran semi-alami dan referensi mungkin disebabkan oleh perbedaan geografi, kondisi pemeliharaan, pola makan, dan kesehatan.
       
      Cynomolgus monkey (Macaca fascicularis) are highly valuable as laboratory animals because of their anatomical and physiological similarities to humans. Physiological parameter values of cynomolgus monkey (CM) currently available are generally derived from foreign literatures wherein CMs are mainly housed in research facilities. The physiological condition of CMs originating from Indonesia and living in a semi-natural breeding facility is thought to differ from those outside Indonesia and kept in captive settings. The study evaluated the liver function profile of CMs in semi-natural captivity on Tinjil Island, Banten, a facility managed by Primate Research Center, IPB University. Evaluation was conducted on archived blood samples obtained from 38 CMs. The results of this study showed that alkaline phosphatase (ALP), total bilirubin, and direct bilirubin values of CMs in Tinjil Island was higher than reference values, while the albumin was lower. Male CMs appeared to show higher ALT, GGT, TP, albumin, and direct bilirubin than the females. The ALT and GGT in young CMs appeared higher than in adults. Differences in physiological values of liver function markers between CM in semi-natural captivity and references may be contributed by differences in geography, maintenance conditions, diet, and health
