      Fluks Nutrien karena Percampuran Turbulen Vertikal di Perairan Banggai, Laut Maluku

      Abstract
      Percampuran massa air secara vertikal dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya fluks nutrien dari lapisan dalam yang kaya nutrien menuju ke lapisan permukaan. Proses percampuran tersebut berperan penting untuk menopang pasokan nutrien yang dimanfaatkan untuk proses fotosintesis oleh fitoplankton. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengalisis profil nutrien dan besarnya pengaruh percampuran vertikal terhadap fluks nutrien di Perairan Banggai, Laut Maluku. Analisis konsentrasi nutrien menggunakan metode spektrofotometri dan analisis percampuran vertikal menggunakan metode Thorpe. Konsentrasi nitrat dan nitrit (N+N) berkisar 0,006 - 0,340 ppm dengan rerata tertinggi 0,161 ppm di ST 13, dan konsentrasi fosfat (PO_4^(3-)) berkisar 0,010 – 0,167 ppm dengan rerata tertinggi sebesar 0,089 ppm di ST 13. Nilai difusivitas eddy vertikal (Kz) berkisar pada rentang nilai 10^(-6) sampai 10^(-2) m^2/s dengan rerata tertinggi di ST 13 sebesar 4,63 ×10^(-3) m^2/s di lapisan termoklin. Tingginya nilai ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi topografi yang dangkal dan kasar serta dekat dengan selat. Nilai fluks nutrien tertinggi berada di lapisan tercampur dengan nilai fluks nitrogen 1,09 ×10^(-5) µmol/m^2/s dan fluks fosfat sebesar 8,67 ×10^(-5) µmol/m^2/s. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa proses upwelling dan percampuran vertikal berperan penting dalam mendukung kesuburan perairan melalui suplai nutrien dari lapisan dalam ke lapisan atas Perairan Banggai, Laut Maluku.
       
      Vertical mixing can transport nutrients from deep, nutrient-rich layers to surface waters, playing a vital role in sustaining nutrient availability for phytoplankton photosynthesis. This research examines nutrient profiles and the influence of vertical mixing on nutrient flux in the Banggai Waters, Maluku Sea. Nutrient concentrations were measured using spectrophotometry, while vertical mixing was analyzed with the Thorpe method. The concentrations of nitrate and nitrite (N+N) ranged from 0,006 – 0,340 ppm, with the highest average value of 0,161 ppm observed at ST 13. Phosphate (PO_4^(3-)) concentrations varied between 0,010 – 0,167 ppm, also peaking at ST 13 with an average of 0,089 ppm. Vertical eddy diffusivity (Kz) ranged from 10^(-6) to 10^(-2) m^2/s, with the highest average, 4,63 ×10^(-3) m^2/s, found in the thermocline at ST 13. These elevated values are strongly influenced by the area’s shallow, rough topography and its proximity to a strait, which enhances mixing. The greatest nutrient flux was detected in the mixed layer, with nitrogen flux reaching 1,09 ×10^(-5) µmol/m^2/s and phosphate flux 8,67 ×10^(-5) µmol/m^2/s. The results highlight the significant contribution of upwelling and vertical mixing in supplying nutrients from deeper layers, supporting the fertility of the Banggai Waters in the Maluku Sea
