      Abstract

This study aims to optimize the number of workers based on the physical workload of finish good warehouse operators at PT. OMRON. The physical workload was measured using the step test method and questionnaires. The results showed that operators on the morning shift, particularly subjects GA and TH, experienced heavy physical workloads, with total scores of 42 and 41, respectively, which reflected high energy consumption, namely 1.769 kcal/min and 1.665 kcal/min. Adding one operator was proven to be effective in reducing the workload to 28, which is categorized as light, while also creating a healthier and more productive work environment. Additionally, implementing correct posture through one point lesson (OPL) can reduce physical fatigue and improve operator productivity. The estimated cost for adding one operator on the morning shift is Rp 9,934,200, with the potential for annual cost savings of Rp 43,623,800. The results of this study can help operators reduce physical fatigue and improve operational efficiency in the warehouse.
