The objective of this study was to measure the infestation intensity of the Coffee Berry Borer (CBB), Hypothenemus hampei Ferr., to calculate pest mortality following the application of biopesticides, and to determine the most effective treatment in reducing both infestation intensity and pest mortality on coffee plants. The study employed a nested factorial experimental design with two factors. The first factor was planting year, consisting of three levels: 1940, 1971, and 2013. The second factor was biopesticide concentration, consisting of six treatment levels: 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 3%, 6%, and Beauveria bassiana. The observed data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and further tested using the Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results showed that tobacco extract was effective in reducing CBB infestation intensity. The effectiveness of the tobacco extract depended on the age of the coffee plants. The high concentration treatment (6%) of tobacco extract resulted in the highest mortality rate of CBB.
