Penambahan Citral pada pakan untuk peningkatan kinerja pertumbuhan ikan patin Pangasianodon hypophthalmus
Abstract
Upaya peningkatan kualitas pakan, salah satunya dapat didekati melalui
pemberian imbuhan pakan berupa citral. Citral memiliki efek biologis yang penting
sebagai aktivitas antimikroba, antikanker, antioksidan dan anti-inflamasi serta efek
stimulasi sistem saraf pusat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi penambahan
citral pada pakan terhadap kinerja pertumbuhan ikan patin Pangasianodon
hypophthalmus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap
(RAL). Perlakuan penambahan citral dengan dosis perlakuan kontrol tanpa
penambahan citral, 50 mg kg-1
, 100 mg kg-1
, dan 150 mg kg-1
. Ikan patin berat 15,26
±0,01 g ditebar dengan kepadatan 30 ekor per tangki, ikan dipelihara di dalam 12
tanki IBC kapasitas 1.000 L yang diisi air volume 800 L. Pemberian pakan uji
diberikan secara ad satiation dua kali sehari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa
pemberian pakan yang ditambah citral dengan dosis 50 mg kg-1 dapat meningkatkan
kinerja pertumbuhan ikan patin. Namun demikian, kinerja pertumbuhan menurun
seiring meningkatnya dosis penambahan citral. Efforts to improve feed quality, one of which can be approached through
the provision of feed additives in the form of citral. Citral has important biological
effects as antimicrobial, anticancer, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities as
well as central nervous system stimulation effects. This study aims to evaluate the
addition of citral to feed on the growth performance of catfish Pangasianodon
hypophthalmus. This study used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD)
method. The treatment of citral addition with a control treatment dose without citral
addition, 50 mg kg-1, 100 mg kg-1, and 150 mg kg-1. Catfish weighing 15 ± 0.01
g were stocked with a density of 30 per tank, the fish were kept in 12 IBC tanks
with a capacity of 1.000 L filled with 800 L of water. The test feed was given ad
satiation twice a day. The results showed that the provision of feed supplemented
with citral at a dose of 50 mg kg-1 could improve the growth performance of catfish.
However, growth performance decreased as the dose of citral was increased.
