      Abstract

In this study, the evaluation of the presence of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in the soils in the Java Arabica Coffee Estate plantation was observed in several cultivation treatments: the coffee plants treated with the application of commercial mycorrhizal fertilizer, the coffee plants without commercial mycorrhizal fertilizer, the coffee plants near Leucaena leucocephala, and Leucaena leucocephala plants to observe spore abundance in the soil, AMF genus variation, and AMF infection. The wet sieving method was applied to isolate the AMF spores from the soil. The sieves of 250 µm, 125 µm, dan 63 µm were used to collect the AMF spores from 10 grams of soil samples. Root infection was observed using the root staining method by Philips and Hayman. The result showed no root infection in any of the samples. A higher trend in spore abundance was found in the soil of the coffee plants with the treatment of commercial mycorrhizal fertilizer. Morphologically, the AMF genera found in the coffee plantation were Acaulospora and Glomus, with variations, and the most abundant was dominated by Acaulospora
