      Pengaruh Pengolahan Tanah terhadap Pertumbuhan Vegetatif Tanaman Nanas (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) pada Typic Plinthudult

      Abstract
      Pengolahan tanah adalah faktor penting dalam mendukung keberhasilan budidaya nanas, khususnya pada fase pertumbuhan vegetatif. Praktik bajak dalam yang selama ini diterapkan secara intensif di PT. Great Giant Pineapple diketahui dapat mempercepat degradasi tanah akibat kerusakan struktur tanah, hilangnya bahan organik, dan terbentuknya lapisan padat. Pengolahan tanah dengan bajak dangkal dapat dipilih sebagai alternatif karena dapat membantu menjaga kandungan bahan organik dan mengurangi gangguan terhadap struktur di bawah lapisan olah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh pengolahan tanah dengan bajak dalam dan bajak dangkal terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman nanas pada Typic Plinthudult. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan rancangan petak terpisah tanpa anak petak dengan dua perlakuan, yaitu bajak dalam (40-60 cm) dan bajak dangkal (0-20 cm), dengan enam ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi jumlah daun dan luas daun pada umur tanaman 1 hingga 4 bulan setelah tanam (BST). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengolahan tanah dengan bajak dangkal secara konsisten menghasilkan jumlah dan luas daun yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pengolahan tanah bajak dalam. Perlakuan pengolahan tanah bajak dangkal juga menunjukkan pengaruh terhadap bobot isi lebih rendah, ruang pori total (RPT) lebih besar, dan kandungan C-organik lebih tinggi. Korelasi yang kuat antara bobot isi, RPT, dan C-organik dengan pertumbuhan vegetatif menunjukkan bahwa pengolahan tanah bajak dangkal memberikan kondisi tanah yang lebih baik untuk pertumbuhan awal tanaman.
       
      Soil tillage is an essential factor in supporting the success of pineapple cultivation, particularly during the vegetative growth phase. The deep plowing practice has been intensively implemented at PT. Great Giant Pineapple has been found to accelerate soil degradation due to structural damage, loss of organic matter, and the formation of compact layers. Shallow plowing can be selected as an alternative, as it helps maintain organic matter content and reduces disturbance to the subsoil structure. This study aims to analyze the effects of deep plowing and shallow plowing on the vegetative growth of pineapple plants on Typic Plinthudult soils. The research was conducted using a split-plot design without a subplot, with two treatments: deep plowing (40–60 cm) and shallow plowing (0–20 cm) and six replications. Observed parameters included the number of leaves and leaf area from 1 to 4 months after planting (MAP). The results showed that shallow plowing tillage consistently produced higher leaf numbers and leaf area compared to deep plowing. Shallow plowing tillage also resulted in lower bulk density, greater total pore space (TPS), and higher organic C content. The strong correlation between bulk density, TPS, and organic C with vegetative growth indicates that shallow plowing tillage provides better soil conditions for plant growth.
