      Abstract

The increasing prevalence of high cholesterol, uric acid, and hypertension has encouraged preventive efforts through the consumption of herbal beverages. This study aims to analyze the safety and effects of a herbal shot drink made from black garlic and sacha inchi on cholesterol levels, uric acid, and blood pressure. A quantitative method with a one group pretest-posttest design was used in a clinical trial involving 24 respondents over a period of seven days, with data analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that the product met the safety limits for microbial and heavy metal contamination. The intervention led to a reduction in average cholesterol levels from 190.83 mg/dL to 174.33 mg/dL, and uric acid levels from 6.31 mg/dL to 5.52 mg/dL. Systolic blood pressure decreased from 132.21 mmHg to 124.67 mmHg, while diastolic pressure slightly increased from 84.08 mmHg to 85.04 mmHg. These findings suggest that the shot drink has potential in helping to reduce cholesterol, uric acid, and systolic blood pressure. The product holds promise for further development as a safe, functional beverage with high economic value.
