      Rekayasa Penetasan Telur Ulat Sutra Eri dengan Penambahan Metanol pada Berbagai Lama Penyimpanan Refrigerator

      Abstract
      Ulat sutra eri (Samia cynthia ricini) merupakan salah satu jenis ulat sutra yang banyak dibudidayakan. Ulat sutra eri bersifat polyvoltine dan tidak mengalami masa diapause. Hal ini terkadang menjadi kendala dalam manajemen bibit dan pakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh lama penyimpanan berbeda dalam refrigerator dengan penambahan metanol 10% (v/v) terhadap durasi penetasan, daya tetas, perkembangan embrio, panjang dan bobot tubuh larva, mortalitas larva, dan karakteristik kokon. Metode penelitian menggunakan RAL dengan perlakuan kontrol dan perlakuan metanol 10% (v/v) pada suhu 5 °C pada lama penyimpanan refrigerator selama 7 dan 10 hari. Hasil menunjukkan perlakuan metanol 10% (v/v) memengaruhi durasi penetasan dan daya tetas. Penggunaan metanol dapat menunda waktu penetasan telur ulat sutra eri dibandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol. Rataan durasi penundaan penetasan telur pada lama penyimpanan selama 7 hari perlakuan metanol 10% (v/v) sebesar 9,04±0,33 hari, lebih lama dibandingkan perlakuan kontrol sebesar 7,63±0,72 hari. Pada lama penyimpanan selama 10 hari perlakuan metanol 10% (v/v) sebesar 12,00±0,71 hari dapat menunda lebih lama dibandingkan perlakuan kontrol sebesar 11,00±0,00 hari
       
      The eri silkworm (Samia cynthia ricini) is one of the most commonly cultivated silkworm species. It is polyvoltine, producing multiple generations each year, and it does not undergo diapause a developmental pause that can complicate seed and feed management. This study examines the effects of storing eggs at 5 °C for 7 and 10 days, with or without 10% (v/v) methanol, on various parameters including hatching time, hatchability, embryo development, larval body length and weight, larval mortality, and cocoon characteristics. The experiment used a completely randomized design with a control and a methanol treatment. Results showed that 10% (v/v) methanol affected hatching time and hatchability, generally causing a delay in egg hatching compared to the control. Eggs stored for 7 days with methanol hatched in an average of 9,04±0,33 days, longer than the control’s 7,63±0,72 days. Similarly, at 10 days, methanol-treated eggs hatched after 12,00±0,71 days versus 11,00±0,00 days for the control
