      Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of providing different types of natural feed on improving the color performance of Betta fish (Betta sp.). The fish body colour is influenced by pigment content, especially carotenoids, which unable be synthesized endogenously by the fish, so they must be obtained through feed. The types of natural feed used consisted of mosquito larvae (K), silkworms (CS), bloodworms (BW), and pellets coated with Spirulina sp. (PS). The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. The parameters observed included color brightness intensity, absolute length and weight growth, and survival. The results showed that the BW treatment produced the highest color brightness value of 30.00 while length and weight growth did not show significant differences between treatments. All treatments showed 100% of survival rate. Water quality during the study was in accordance with SNI 01-6485.3- 2000. The pH value slightly exceeded the quality standard but did not have a significant effect on increasing the color brightness performance of the fish.
