      Abstract

Community involvement in aquaculture in Sukabumi remains low due to limited understanding. Although catfish has high economic value, its cultivation is constrained by land and cost. The use of simple containers, such as barrels, offers a strategic solution to improve livelihoods of farmers. This community service aims to reactivate the Bina Sarasa Mandiri Fish Farming Group (Pokdakan) through simple catfish farming that can be processed into value-added products, supporting the program of government for sustainable food security. Community empowerment is carried out through comprehensive technical assistance, covering seeding, maintenance, harvest processing, and digital marketing. Barrel-based farming has shown a high survival rate of 92% with water quality that meets standards. Additionally, product innovation training (e.g., catfish nuggets), halal certification, and Business Identification Number (NIB) registration serve as strategies to increase product value and ensure business legality.
